Mission Statement

Senior Companion Program (SCP) offers support to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in Clackamas County. There is no charge for services. Our program helps individuals live independently and safely for as long as possible.

Description

Trained Senior Companion volunteers help individuals in need of assistance. Our volunteers become companions for seniors to address certain needs, such as:

  • help clients get to critical appointments and services
  • assist with household needs
  • participate and encourage social activities
  • help clients maintain independence

SCP volunteers are 55 years of age or older, no longer in the regular workforce, and are capable of serving adults with unique needs. If income eligible, SCP volunteers may receive a small, non-taxable stipend plus mileage reimbursement. Volunteers spend at least 5 hours per week volunteering in order to meet program guidelines.
