Here for the safety of White Oak and its neighbors. When you need us - we will be there for you!
The Rainbow Volunteer Fire Company of White Oak services a population of over 7,000 people living in the dense residential Borough of White Oak, Pennsylvania. Our community is located in Allegheny County; a suburb of the City of Pittsburgh, in the western part of the state. Our community can best be described as very diverse. There are a multitude of homes in a decidedly "blue collar" residential neighborhood, with more than 3,600 households located in less than 4 square miles. The "downtown" business district consists of the Oak Park Mall; with the requisite town supermarket, gas station, auto dealership, and several restaurants. Over 20% of the Borough is comprised by the 'White Oak Park;' an 810-acre outdoor recreational venue which features athletic fields, playgrounds, volleyball and bocce courts, pavilions, and multiple walking and hiking trails. The Rainbow Volunteer Fire Company "Station 300" has a roster of 38 proud volunteers who faithfully serve our community. All of our firefighters are required to complete minimum training consistent with the curriculum of NFPA 1001 through State or National training programs prior to the end of a probationary period. We protect our community by means of four pieces of front-line fire apparatus: On an average year, we will respond to 300 calls for service.
