HARMONY FOR HOPE INC

Description

Harmony for Hope, Inc. is a nonprofit organization located in Mount Hope, West Virginia. Founded in 2013 as the Mount Hope Alumni Band, a group of citizens came together yearly to participate in various events which encouraged connection to the community through music. Over the course of the next four years, with growing community interest in the group, Harmony was officially established through community donations. The goal of the group is to host an association which is dedicated to unifying and restoring community in the Mount Hope region through the curation of Art, Music, and Appalachian Heritage.

In the summer of 2018, Harmony established, "The Harmony for Hope Center" an artist co-op and storefront gallery. Artists are provided free studio space in exchange for volunteering at The Center. Additionally, their artwork is displayed alongside the commissioned work highlighted in the Mount Hope Historic Walking Tour brochure and sold with a minimal consignment fee of ten percent. All proceeds from the artwork sold are then reinvested back into Harmony.

With the completion of the Mount Hope Historic Walking trail, and with the acquisition of one of the existing historic structures in Mount Hope, located at 704 - 708 Main St. Mount Hope WV, Harmony has begun exploring ways to broaden our outreach in the area.
