Fundraiser Job Description Midtown Youth Academy’s mission is to promote success through education and wellness through boxing. Midtown Youth Academy teaches District youth boxing to channel their energies into positive outlets such as physical fitness, education, spiritual and social awareness. Midtown Youth Academy is looking for four driven fundraisers to raise funds for the organization to further the Midtown mission. The fundraiser's responsibilities include developing fundraising programs, recruiting sponsors and volunteers, and encouraging support through promotional activities. The fundraiser should also develop and maintain professional relationships. The fundraiser will work closely with the grant writer to establish and achieve the organization’s financial goals. To be successful as a fundraiser, one should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong leadership qualities. Ultimately, a top-notch fundraiser should be able to perform under pressure and demonstrate exceptional organizational and presentation skills. Volunteers must pass the background check. Fundraiser Responsibilities: Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission Researching potential sponsors Writing funding proposals and sending these to potential sponsors Creating marketing and promotional activities Developing fundraising events Maintaining records of sponsors Organizing campaigns that will lead to donations Training volunteers Fundraiser Requirements: High school diploma Experience in a fundraising position Creative and influential Detail-oriented Good organizational skills Strong leadership qualities

General Volunteer Description Midtown Youth Academy’s mission is to promote success through education and wellness through boxing. Midtown Youth Academy is looking for four driven volunteers to support and further the Midtown mission. The volunteers’ responsibilities include supporting Midtown leadership, grant writers, fundraisers, instructors and coaches to enhance the Midtown Youth Academy’s visibility and effectiveness in the community. Volunteers will also support Midtown Youth Academy’s events, support administrative tasks, engage with community members, be champions of the Midtown mission, and provide general operational support as needed. Volunteers must pass the background check. Volunteer Responsibilities: Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission Support the organization’s visibility on social media Support the organization’s visibility and effectiveness in the community Collaborate with other members of the organization to meet specific goals Provide general support to Midtown Youth Academy operations. Assistant Coach (boxing and conditioning) Midtown Youth Academy’s mission is to promote success through education and wellness through boxing. Midtown Youth Academy teaches District youth boxing to channel their energies into positive outlets such as physical fitness, education, spiritual and social awareness. Midtown Youth Academy is looking for eight passionate and competent assistant boxing and conditioning coaches to support the Midtown mission. The assistant boxing and conditioning coach will support the head boxing and conditioning coach in training youth participants and handling administrative tasks. To be successful as an assistant boxing and conditioning coach one should build a positive environment and ensure students, facilities and training equipment are adequately prepared. Must obtain a USA Boxing coaches license or membership Assistant Coach Responsibilities: Building positive training environment Organizing training sessions Preparing and maintaining training equipment and facilities Assisting with the recruitment of students for the program Monitoring and evaluating student performance Assisting with budget preparations and the development of training plans Facilitating and supervising training sessions and individual workouts Fulfilling other duties as assigned by the head coach Assistant Coach Requirements: Previous coaching experience preferred Familiarity with boxing and or rules and techniques preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Outstanding organizational skills Strong attention to detail

The grant writer will write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals. The grant writer will apply his/her knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach income goals. The grant writer will collaborate with team members in the organization to assist with other fundraising projects and develop relationships with key stakeholders. The grant writer will work closely with the fundraiser to establish and achieve the organization’s financial goals. To be successful as a grant writer, one will need to write well, have proficient knowledge of grant writing requirements and methods, and be committed to the mission of Midtown Youth Academy. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players with outstanding multitasking abilities. All volunteers must pass the background check.
