Blue Horse Rescue is dedicated to providing horses with a safe and nurturing environment while they heal physically, mentally and emotionally from situations of abandonment, neglect and abuse. We firmly believe that to get back on the road to a loving home the horses need time to settle down and begin to heal. We give them all the support they need: time, great vet care, nutritional support and a lot of love. Our Equine Wellness program includes: yearly vaccines, dentals, fecal egg counts and appropriate rotational worming schedules and, also addressing any health issues that occur. Our ultimate commitment to all the horses is to find them a great forever home.
Blue Horse Rescue is a small rescue that until June of 2021 was 100% foster based. We are now located in Crockett, CA and are in the process of reinventing ourselves. We currently have one full size horse and 3 miniature horses on the property with three remaining in foster care until more shelters and stalls can be purchased and constructed. Our goal is to grow in all way - horses, volunteers and donors. BHR is working on implementing a leveled Horsemanship 101 class for all volunteers who wish to seriously learn about horses and volunteering, or those who have some horse knowledge and wish to continue learning. It's a great time to volunteer with Blue Horse Rescue as we move towards helping more horses. We are also transitioning from large full sized horses to ponies and miniature horses (unbelievably cute!).
