Mission Statement

Mutual Aid LA Network, a project of POWER, is a connector and information hub for mutual aid efforts across Los Angeles. We believe in an abundant world that can be freed of oppression through community solidarity.

Description

Mutual Aid LA Network, est. March 2020 by a group of POWER and Ground Game organizers, had the goal of safely providing material support to those who needed it most. Over $520,000 was raised and redistro'd in the form of direct aid to individuals, funds to other neighboring groups, through purchase and distribution of PPE and groceries, and finally, weekly outreach (with food, water and supplies) to unhoused individuals from Lincoln Heights to Palms. Beyond the monetary, we’ve:

  • Provided emotional support to 200+ individuals.
  • Completed 1,000+ grocery deliveries
  • Partnered with Food Forward and the LA Community Fridges to get rescued produce to fridges and the surrounding community.
  • Created a Fridge Movers team with LACF for efficient pick up and delivery of donated fridges.
MALAN is continuing its on-the-ground projects of Produce in the Park, Hygiene Hello!, unhoused outreach and cash redistribution. We’re building an accessible resource catalog and consistently releasing the Dispatch, which highlights ways to contribute to mutual aid efforts. We're committed to evolving and utilizing the resources this group garners to build solidarity and community.
