The Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, MD's hub for free legal services, is seeking volunteer attorneys to assist with the Maryland Immigration Legal Assistance Project. Volunteer attorneys (barred in any state) help immigrant children and families fleeing violence in their home countries gain access to critical legal assistance with their valid claims to remain in the country. Remote and in-court opportunities available. Free training is available for licensed attorneys who agree to volunteer at 2 MILAP clinics within 1 year of registering. The Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, MD's hub for free legal services, is seeking volunteer attorneys to assist at rent court clinics with the Tenant Volunteer Lawyer of the Day program. TVLD volunteers represent tenants in Failure to Pay Rent Actions, advising them about available defenses and helping to ensure that they stay housed. Free training is available for licensed attorneys who agree to volunteer at two (2) dockets at Baltimore City or Baltimore County District Court within 1 year from registration. The Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, MD's hub for free legal services, is seeking volunteer attorneys to assist at Home Preservation Project's estate planning clinics. HPP's clinics provide free assistance for income-eligible Marylanders with the drafting of simple wills, advanced medical directives, and financial powers of attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys licensed in the state of Maryland to help seniors preserve their assets for future generations and learn about estate law. Free training is available for licensed attorneys who agree to prepare two estate plans pro bono within one year of registering. Volunteer lawyers will receive malpractice insurance and access to a mentor for their pro bono cases. To sign up for the free training, click here.
