Mission Statement

An Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) led community that engages with and empowers AAC users by building community, relationships, and socialization skills. We aspire to build relationships between individuals with complex communication needs and their local communities.

Description

ImpAACt Voices is a non-profit organization who supports, empowers, and connects AAC users worldwide.

Our vision is a world that values human diversity and embraces people with complex communication needs who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and for AAC users to have equality of life in every area of society.

We serve our community by hosting four monthly virtual AAC Hangouts where AAC users meet to build relationships by socializing with their peers of all abilities. They are led by AAC users and rooted in compassion, belonging, and community. They are a fun way to foster connections, have lively discussions, join in activities, and most importantly, enjoy yourself.

October 7 & 8, 2022, in Arlington, Virginia, we hosted our inaugural in-person live AAC Hangout that brought together the AAC community and employers across the United States. It was an historic event by being the first live event hosted by all AAC users. We are looking forward to hosting our next live event and would love your help.

Come volunteer with us and join the AAC movement, where AAC users have a major voice at the table to tackle issues that are important to them. Volunteer with us!
