Description

The St. Marys location of The Salvation Army offers resources for housing and utility assistance based on funding. Our location offers The Pathway of Hope program which is a strength-based case management program available for individuals who may be struggling with self-sufficient. A minor child or children must reside in the household to be eligible. Our Case Manger will work with the client to overcome the obstacles and provide guidance to the path of self-sufficiency.

The St. Marys location accepts donations of clothing and household good to sell in our Family Store. This allows opportunities for everyone to purchase quality clothing and household goods at a fraction of the retail price. Clothing vouchers are available for anyone is crisis.

During the Thanksgiving and Christmas Season we coordinate with several community partners to provide food for those in need. The Angel Tree/Senior Tree program provides gifts to local children and senior citizens.

Each summer a true camping experience is available for local children to go to Lake Grandview for 7 days. This camp is provided completely free to the families.

HISTORY
William Booth began The Salvation Army in 1865 as a means to help the suffering souls throughout London who were not willing to attend - or even welcomed into a traditional church. Though General Booth died in 1912, he laid a firm foundation for the lifesaving work that The Salvation Army continues to perform today in over 100 countries.
