Comfort Hospice of Las Vegas is looking for volunteers who have a passion for sewing. Create a keepsake for our bereaved families after the death of a Comfort Hospice patient. This volunteer opportunity is incredibly rewarding, and offers comfort and support for our bereaved families when they are needing it the most. Patterns and materials are provided at no cost to you. You can increase the quality of life of patients, and their families, who are affected by a terminal diagnosis. Even better, you can volunteer all over the Las Vegas area, at our local office, or even from your own home. We are currently training volunteers to be Direct Care Patient Volunteers These volunteers will visit patients in their homes, or facilities, to provide companionship and support all across the Las Vegas area. Comfort Hospice of Las Vegas is committed to our mission to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and their entire family. Some of our patients are spending the final weeks, days, and hours of their lives alone, without family and friends nearby. Although they become part of the Comfort Hospice family, these individuals would benefit from your companionship, and supportive presence, at the end of their lives. Vigil Volunteers are trained to support patients in their final hours, by holding their hand, providing reassurance, creating a peaceful environment through music and aromatherapy, and offering support throughout their transition. You will receive full hospice volunteer training, and specialized Vigil Volunteer training. All volunteers with Comfort Hospice complete a basic physical and background check, paid for by Comfort Hospice. Comfort Hospice of Las Vegas is seeking licensed hairstylists and barbers to serve as volunteers. Volunteers, with this special expertise, will provide hospice patients with professional services in their homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, and in Hospice House settings. Haircuts and hairstyling are provided when patients are no longer able to travel to get their hair styled or cut, or cannot afford the service. It is our privilege to have volunteers share their talents and provide a service that gives our patients dignity, and makes them feel better.
