Mission Statement
Urban Ankh Restoration Inc (UAR Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit organization that was created to bring awareness in the community regarding stigmas in mental illness, colorism, rape, assault, culture, through literature, poetry, the arts, performing arts, music, and community events. UAR Inc will provide a positive outlet for the community to raise consciousness and restore the community.
Description
Urban Ankh Restoration Inc's (UAR Inc) role is to provide the community with a healthy outlet to manage these disparities through art, literature, performing arts, music, open mic sessions, and open forums as well as providing the community events such as clothes drives, school and educational events, holiday events, food drives, and other projects that will benefit the community.
All of our community events are geared towards improving the community and or giving creatives the chance to be heard. Creating, dancing, singing, painting...all of these activities can be done for fun. However, many use it as an emotional outlet. When their thoughts or voices cannot be heard, they put it in their art. We simply want to give creatives the opportunity to showcase their work and connect with other creatives.
Outside of this we are very keen on giveaways and givebacks for those in need.
