The New Pittsburgh Exposition is an online magazine that focuses on the culture of the Pittsburgh region. The New Pittsburgh Exposition’s mission is to educate and connect people to cultural sites throughout the southwestern region of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through media coverage and a robust directory of museums, galleries, historic places, cultural sites, and creative spaces. You can help us achieve our goals and help people find our region’s hidden treasures! Volunteer Job Responsibilities (responsibilities may vary): Understands the overall concept of the organization, including the brand, audience, goals, and all other aspects of resources. Works on creating engaging social media posts to bring awareness of the organization and drives traffic to our website to engage with our resources. Works to maintain our event calendar and blog to ensure it is up today and robust. Works to enhance our directory of more than 400 listings through expanding its scope and updating existing listings. Work to create original media productions, blog writing, aiding in podcast and video production. Provide feedback on ways to improve our product and organization. Work Hours Work hours are subject to school credit requirements and can be flexible. We will work with your university or college to give course credit if applicable. The New Pittsburgh Exposition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which is currently run entirely by volunteers and sustained by your generous support.
Description
The New Pittsburgh Exposition started when two friends, Randy and Brian, began touring their favorite museums. The two visited many museums and through their journeys were often asked, where could someone find a list of these museums? The short answer was nowhere. Not until now.
