Mission Statement
Vision: To act as a stimulus and facilitator to create sustainable job opportunities for residents of Lebanon, with a special focus to inform and inspire youth and women to achieve self-reliance and financial independence, regardless of nationality or religious affiliation. Mission: To finance, support, and leverage the strength of existing non-politically affiliated Lebanese NGOs, social enterprises, and initiatives that are committed to implementing programs of economic empowerment for youth and women in Lebanon.
Description
In October 2019, Lebanon experienced an economic meltdown that was compounded by the Covid 19 health crisis. Then, after a massive explosion occurred in the commercial port of Beirut, in August 2020, the political, financial, employment and educational structures of the country soon began to quickly deteriorate. Banks locked down account access, unemployment skyrocketed, and the educational system is on the verge of collapse. Moreover, Lebanese women and children suffered the most from the last two breakdowns noted above. It is at this point that the founders of Cedar Gate Fund (Maher and Monica Jubaili) were compelled to financially support certain non-political, educationally focused NGO’s operating in Lebanon. Therefore, to best support these well vetted organizations, Maher and Monica started the CG Fund Lebanon nonprofit organization and personally funded it with the initial sum of $400,000. Therefore, the ultimate purpose of Cedar Gate Fund USA is to serve as a primary financial conduit in support of CG Fund Lebanon’s vision, mission, objectives, and values.
