Mission Statement

Empowerment Through Homeownership

Description

Acts Housing makes it possible for families with barriers (credit, savings, financial, language, etc.) to become homeowners. We provide homebuyer and financial counseling, real estate brokerage, and rehab expertise.

Through Acts Lending, we offer purchase and rehab loans for families who have been locked out of the traditional mortgage market and are purchasing distressed homes.

Your Acts Housing team: financial coach, real estate agent, and home rehab coach, work together to help you find the perfect home that is right for your needs and financial position. Acts families can purchase private market properties, or fixer uppers.

With a median household income of $38,000 - $60,000 per year, many Acts families used to pay half their income or more on subpar rental housing. After becoming homeowners, we witness parents using their savings and equity in more meaningful ways.

Families who commit to the hard work of reclaiming a vacant, often vandalized, foreclosed property are able to save money by doing many repairs themselves. Families work very hard to create homes that are safe, sanitary and code compliant.

To date, Acts Housing’s Homeownership Empowerment Program has assisted 3,214+ families in becoming homeowners, reclaimed more than 986 foreclosures and over $235 million has been reinvested in the City of Milwaukee and Beloit communities.
