You can make a profound difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones. We welcome volunteers from all walks of life. Whether you contribute your time and talent directly with patients or prefer to work behind the scenes, we invite you to become a member of a dedicated group of compassionate caregivers who serve as vital members of our hospice team.
Description
As a hospice volunteer you may be asked to:
- Listen and support the patient and their loved ones
- Read or sit with a patient for short periods of time
- Write Letters
- Run errands
- Observe and report to the hospice care team
- Act as a liaison between hospice staff, the patient and family
- Check on patients by telephone
- Assist with clerical office tasks
- Support community events like education offerings
