Description

The mission of the Learning Disabilities Association of Pennsylvania (LDA of PA) is to promote and support the education and general welfare of individuals with learning and attention issues and their families. We do this by running multisensory reading and math instruction workshops to help teachers learn how to more effectively educate students with learning disabilities. We run a reading instruction tutoring program for low income and underserved students. We produce multisensory videos of complex scientific protocols from high school and college science classes to help students that think differently learn laboratory science more efficiently. We use improv comedy as a way of teaching children with learning disabilities how to increase their confidence. We run trainings for colleges and businesses to help them increase accessibility to people with learning disabilities. We also respond to hundreds of adults and parents seeking help finding appropriate learning disability-focused services in their area.
