Mission Statement

Cleveland Hearth Hospice is founded by experienced nurses and healthcare professionals who have a long and intense love and passion for patients who find themselves needing hospice and palliative care. We believe that every person is their own distinct individual with their own needs and desires. Hearth expresses this through the highest level of professionalism, availability and collaboration with patients, families, physicians and the hospice team members. Hearth's dedication to compassion and quality is the driving force to assist people during this time.

Description

We offer two types of Volunteers opportunities: Companionship and Administrative.

  • Companionship Volunteers visit with a patient in their residence to provide conversation, reading to them, and or respite care for a caregiver. Their residence may be in a skilled nursing facility, an assisted living facility or in their own home.
  • Administrative Volunteers assist office staff with filing, copying, mailouts, etc.
We service six counties: Bledsoe, Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, and Rhea. We will pair you with a location that best fits your schedule.

I want to express my appreciation for the exceptional support I've received from Bridgett, the volunteer coordinator at Cleveland's Hearth Hospice. From the moment I reached out to inquire, Bridgett was easy to connect with and took time to explain the process. After completing the training, Bridgett made me feel extremely welcome, even though I was not ready to commit to home visits and was only interested in administrative work. She never pressured me and always made sure I had the resources/support I needed. Bridgett goes above and beyond in supporting the volunteer team, offering opportunities for us to connect socially, and fostering a kind and caring environment. It's obvious she cares deeply about her volunteers. Thanks to Bridgett's warm welcome and support, I am pleased to be a volunteer at Hearth Hospice. I look forward to years of volunteering, making connections, building friendships, and perhaps one day developing special relationships with the patients we serve.
