Mission Statement

BrownSTEM is a 501(C)3 organization on a mission to expose, inspire and engage Urban and Rural M/HS students in 3 counties ( Wilson, Guadeloupe, and Bexar) surrounding the San Antonio community about the opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine. (STEMM). Our vision is to cultivate, nurture, and sustain a diverse workforce that narrows the national opportunity gaps in STEMM fields, especially for BIPOC, Girls, and marginalized communities.

Description

B.A.R.N. STEMM and CYBERLAB are designed to be an incubator and accelerator that delivers activities, programs and events that bring inspiration, motivation and training to all STEMM stakeholders, specifically focusing on underserved communities and underrepresented groups, across rural communities (BIPOC and Rural youth ages 12-21). Participants receive the opportunity to obtain 21st Century skills of Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Entrepreneurial Acumen (CPE ). We are a STEMM ecosystem broker who build STEMM capital in marginalized communities.
