Mission Statement

BoBCAT's mission is to educate, nurture, and sustain a well-prepared, world-class workforce in Brooklyn, New York, for the balance of the 21st Century, with the goal of eradicating chronic unemployment and underemployment within the Borough.

Description

Borough of Brooklyn Center for Arts &Technology (BoBCAT) was established by a group of concerned professionals to address the problem of chronically high unemployment among underrepresented populations, principally Black and Latinx communities, in Brooklyn, NY. To address this challenge, we established a training program with educational pathways to prepare our candidates for fields in which they will be able to pursue living wage careers without the need for a college degree. We source some of our candidates through the public school system, local universities, and community organizations.
