This is the big day! We will be distributing toys and food to families in need through our Angel Tree program. Help The Salvation Army provide the many boys and girls in our community with the joy of Christmas morning. Volunteer duties may include: 1. Direct traffic throughout the designated areas of Cal Expo 2. Greet families and retrieve vouchers 3. Load toys and food boxes into car 4. Keep eating area clean and organized * We take great care in making sure we are accurate and friendly in this process. *This is a fast paced day with mostly outdoor activity. Please be prepared for cold weather and dress appropriately. *We require that volunteers be of at least 16 years of age and pre-registered. *We are located in Buildings C & D. Help get fresh produce and groceries to people in need! Volunteers will help sort and bag donations of fresh produce and perishable food items to be handed out to clients. PLEASE NOTE: Persons needing to do court ordered community service hours will need to complete a volunteer application and be cleared prior to volunteering. Please contact Jennifer Howard at Jennifer.Howard@usw.salvationarmy.org or visit the volunteer site to pick up an application. Minimum age to volunteer is 16 with parent/guardian permission. Must be in good health. IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: Volunteers MUST wear closed-toed rubber soled shoes. No sandals or flip flops.

This volunteer opportunity takes place at our warehouse at Cal Expo. We will be located in Building C. Enter Cal Expo through Gate 12 at Ethan & Hurley Way. Please be prepared for cold weather and dress accordingly. Lunch is served to our volunteers between 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. Morning volunteers are welcome to eat after their shift ends, and afternoon volunteers are welcome to arrive early and eat before their shift begins.
