Mission Statement

Family Tree Healthcare is a multi-faceted social services company whose guiding mission is to create programs in underserved populations of Color which promote healthy communities and families. FTHC takes the holistic approach (a healing philosophy that views a patient as a whole person, not just a disease or a collection of symptoms) and extends it to working with communities--a philosophy that views a community as a whole, not just a community at risk or collection of problems, but one that has leaders, has assets and has value to "heal itself."

Description

Family Tree Healthcare was founded in 2003. Family Tree Healthcare is a labor of love made possible, and inspired by the example set by the late Lillie Hines Marbley.... Family Tree Healthcare began as Family Tree Parenting Services in 2003, a non-profit Arizona based company made up of a culturally diverse staff and board of directors with more than 85 joint years of community service in working with families. Our years of experience come from various fields including social work, education, medicine, information management and administration.

FTHC focuses on the unique circumstances of women of color as they face issues related to domestic violence - including intimate partner violence, child abuse, elder maltreatment, and community violence. Our goal is to enhance society's understanding of and ability to end domestic violence in the minority and low-income community. Within this context, Family Tree Healthcare works with primarily with the African-American and Native American communities.

Family Tree Healthcare received grant funding in June of 2022 from the CDC and Maricopa County Dept of Pubic Health. This grant with help FTHC create change strategies that address health disparities related to 3 critical community health concerns: Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Obesity.
