Mission Statement
The purpose of the Enlisted Heritage House is to function as a social and professional organization established to enhance, capture and preserve the enlisted heritage of active military, veterans and their families.
Description
The Enlisted Heritage House is a veteran’s nonprofit 501c19 organization. Constructed in 1935, the house served as a nurse’s quarters during WWll and Vietnam wars. Then it was converted to the Selfridge base commander’s quarters through 2005. It was renovated and restored in 2015 by a group of military members who saw a need for a meeting and social space for all branches of the military on Selfridge ANGB. The Enlisted Heritage House hosts several events throughout the year. The Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat, and Christmas Tree Lighting are for active military, veterans and their families and take place annually. We also host a Golf Outing, our largest fundraiser of the year which takes place in August. Our goal is to raise funds for the renovations and sustainment of the Enlisted Heritage House. Many military organizations host meetings and family events at the house and Enlisted Heritage House members are honored with a membership appreciation party at the end of each year. Recently, a Patriot Paver Project was completed. Names of past and present military members are honored on each paver surrounding the American Flag on the lawn of the Enlisted Heritage House. The
goal of the Enlisted Heritage House is to continue to raise money to maintain and support the military community at Selfridge ANGB.
