Mission Statement
Our vision is to enhance the financial literacy, and thus the economic security of women and girls in the United States. Our mission is to deliver trustworthy, competent, and comprehensive financial education that inspires sound decisions, purposeful action, and philanthropy. Women are at higher risk of poverty than men and often carry higher financial risks (e.g., disability, longevity, underearning, singlehood). Financial illiteracy is a preventable risk factor, one that is most acutely and broadly experienced by women. Moneyweave Academy aims to reduce the economic disparities women face. We provide fee-free financial education through a wide range of tools: classes, blogs, podcasts, social media posts, calculators, and proprietary workbooks.
Description
Founded in March 2021, we have experienced a tremendous growth trajectory and resonance with high-profile female influencers, leaders, funders, and the women we seek to serve. Since our inception last year, we have established an outstanding board of directors, launched a Think Tank for girls and women of color, produced a world-class website; as well as published 12 podcasts, 14 blogs, 10 classes, our SMART Financial Goals workbook, 12 vetted calculators, and hundreds of social media posts. We have also laid an operationally efficient infrastructure that supports high productivity and the potential to quickly scale.
Our 2023 plans include continuing to expand, improve and accelerate deliverables mentioned above, along with launching 2 - 3 major financial literacy initiatives focused on unserved women and girls (especially BIPOC and immigrant populations).
We are now poised for significant growth as we seek to optimize funding opportunities through individual donor campaigns, corporate sponsorships, and grants.
