RaktSankalp is a pledge- based initiative which aims to eradicate the problem of low blood supply in India by 2025, as per the WHO declaration.
RaktSankalp was started in 2021 by Mr. Ravit Sachdev ji, a regular blood donor who has been contributing immensely in the field of blood donation since last 15 years. What is different about RaktSankalp? 'Rakt' in hindi means Blood, while 'Sankalp' means pledge. When we say, RaktSankalp is a pledge-based initiative, it means that we work by making people pledge to donate blood once a year (especially in their birthday month). A powerful pledge has a great potential to change someone's life. This is what sets us apart. What is the need for RaktSankalp?
Statistics say, India has sufficient donor population to fulfil its blood demand, but the major reason why we are still facing deaths due to lack of blood supply of 'lack of awareness' about blood donation. Therefore, we make sure we are working towards educating people also. We organise awareness campaigns, blood drives, blood rides, blood donation carnivals, pledge taking ceremonies, and collaborate with various events as pledge partners. We are extremely proud to announce we have made 600+ people pledge and 5000+ lives impacted since our inception.
