Mission Statement
The mission of the Clarendon Hills Park District is to provide well-maintained, safe, active and passive recreational spaces through sound environment management; to provide programs in consideration of the needs of our diverse community which support the health and wellness of individuals as well as the community; increase awareness and respect for our environment and allow for athletic participation at all levels; and to work within the community’s financial limitations while fostering cooperative relationships whenever possible.
Description
The Clarendon Hills Park District was founded in 1946 and currently has eight park sites totaling approximately 45 acres of recreation space. Existing parks include: Prospect, Hosek, Blackhawk, Park Avenue, Walker, Steeves, Kruml and the Lions Park Pool. The Community Center is the administration building for the Park District and houses a majority of the recreation programs and events. The Park District has a strong working relationship with School District 181 to increase recreation space for programs.
The Park District provides over 700 recreational programs a year to its residents from preschool age through our Rainbow Club (participants 50 years of age and better). All information on Clarendon Hills Park District programs and facilities are published in the District’s brochure three times a year; Winter/Spring, Summer and Fall. All dates, times, locations and descriptions are contained within these brochures. These brochures are mailed to all Clarendon Hills Park District residents. For more information contact the park district office at 630-323-2626.
