Mission Statement

Help disadvantaged children to learn and grow for the benefit of the community! This project offers the opportunity to experience tho culture and lifestyle of tanzania. The location is a new and relatively rural ward of a large city which facilitates access to both environments. We’re also located close enough to the Serengeti to visit at weekends if desired. Join our cooperative and together we can achieve more! Our future goals is to make the project financially sustainable, we plan to operate on a non-profit basis with community funds provided by a small number of paying students from regular families. This will allow us to grow further, supporting more disadvantaged children and allow us to provide education up to a higher age too.

Needed: volunteers for Next Smile kindergarten in the Kishiri region of Mwanza-TANZANIA

Hi, my name is Augustino Kahayi. I am the co-founder of Next Smile Kindergarten and am committed to improving the lives of local children by keeping the project moving forward.

About the Next Smile kindergarten:

This is a Kindergarten situated close to Mwanza (Tanzanias second largest city) in sub-town called igoma ward

It was officially established on October 2nd in 2021, the main goals being to provide education and promote Early Childhood development on a charitable basis. Since that time we have worked with the local community to secure land and build two classrooms.

Many of the children we support are orphans and currently all are from families who cannot afford education. As such, we currently run the project entirely through community support.

We are currently looking for any skilled or unskilled friends and volunteers as our activities and
Volunteer program is without limits.

we provide free accommodation and food you are welcome

AVOID! I went all excited and happy about this project, I raised £1400, donated 9 phones and a laptop from friends for the families and brought loads of school material, medicines and games. Soon after I arrived another volunteer and I found out Augustino was lying about the whole project. Every kid except for one have to pay for attending, in every place says that this is for disadvantaged children who can’t afford to attend school. When confronting Augustino he lied to us and tried to find excuses even if we had loads of evidence about this. The kindergarten is a private school. The other volunteer (19yo and her 1st volunteer project) and I left before time and none of the kids or families ever got to see the phones or laptop, he kept them for himself and sell them except for an iPhone that he is using it as a second phone. He kept lying and lying and the whole stay was very uncomfortable, he was doing no work during the day but nap and have breakfast out. Very disappointing.
