Perform for Seniors with Art of the Heart at Saint Louis Regional Hospital

In order to take part, volunteers must have a piece ready to perform. All instruments/musical forms are welcome. We typically ask our musicians to play 2-3 songs that are up to 7-10 minutes in length, but volunteers uncomfortable with the duration may play for a shorter time. We will not have a piano or microphone at this venue. We ask performers to bring their own equipment and instrument if they wish to perform. Musicians are also allowed to sing. Musicians will perform their pieces one at or time (unless in group) and listen to other performers until all musicians have played their piece(s). Depending on the facility, masks and vaccines may or may not be required. Please check the app for this information. Mission Statement

Art of the Heart works on bringing the joy and comfort of music to senior citizens, those who are developmentally disabled, isolated pediatric patients & low-income adults, and provides young musicians with a space to showcase their skills in the form of community outreach.

Description

Founded in 2020 and based in San Jose, California, Art of the Heart organizes live concerts at senior living facilities, connecting young musicians to seniors. More than 5,000 have participated in our programs so far.
