About Alegria
Alegria means happiness in Spanish which is what we strive to provide. Our services include animal interactive therapeutic activities.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors, adults and children through animal assisted therapeutic activities.
The programs utilize all animals and assets on the ranch to enhance the lives of any child
4 years and older who are in need can participate in the program.
Situated on 40 acres in Bush, Louisiana, Alegria is a certified full-service animal assisted therapeutic center, complete with over 60 animals, including large and miniature horses and donkeys, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, a mini potbellied pig, an alpaca and a handsome rooster named Brad Pitt.
Alegria is a center certified through Path International which means the center is held to the gold standard for teaching people with disabilities, animal welfare and safety of our participants.
The center is wheelchair accessible and includes barns, an activities arena, ranch house, and an educational teaching area.
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) 100% all proceeds go straight into our programs and animal care.
