Description

Hunters Point Family

Hunters Point Family prepares children, teens, and young adults who live in Bayview/Hunters Point to become adults who thrive. The organization provides essential services to young people on-site where they and their families live. Our focus is social-emotional support, academic guidance, practical life-skills, economic mobility tools, and safe passages to and from school. Hunters Point Family programming is culturally responsive, embracing the diverse young people who live in the neighborhood.

Our youth and families benefit from:

  • 2 community gardens located at Adam Rogers and Double Rock.
  • Candlestick Heights After-school Program (CHAP).
  • The Gilman Rec Connect program where students receive homework help after school and safe spaces to play.
  • GIRLS 2000 (our all-girls program) where girls receive mentorship and academic support
  • Peacekeepers is a violence prevention and response program that services youth and young adults ages 12-21.
  • Ujamaa provides a pathway for our youth and young adults with education, training, and employment services.
  • Bayview Safe Haven is a holistic, violence prevention that supports youth ages 10-18.
  • Oakdale Safe Haven operates out of public housing unit. Services include case management, mentoring, and tutoring.
