We are seeking professional volunteers to join our hospice team as vigil volunteers St. Louis. The area we serve is mostly St. Charles and St. Louis Counties, but we also are able to serve patients in Jefferson Co. Volunteers may share the joy of arts and crafts, connecting through pet therapy, or learning what comfort means to each of our patients is different for everyone. Some of our patients are lonely and appreciate the visit just to talk and know that you care. Other activities include creating crafts, blankets, or other gifts in the office to present to the patients at their homes. We will serve clients in homes, independent living centers, and private residences. This is a great opportunity for students to add to their experience while studying. We Honor Veterans is a program in partnership with hospice care in the United States that promotes excellence in Veteran's end of life care. We honor our Veteran's service by acknowledging their sacrifice and meeting them where they are with compassion, dignity, and respect. We would like to grow our number of Veterans who volunteer. These retired or active-duty Veterans can understand the unique needs because they have lived through similar experiences with our Veteran patients. Orientation and support is provided through the Phoenix hospice office volunteer coordinator. Veterans help other veterans heal at the end of life through compassionate listening and honoring veterans with in uniform pinning ceremonies.
