A Band of Voters (ABOV) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit dedicated to helping students build their political power through art, celebration, education and community.
ABOV invests in student leaders to activate their campuses through a series of peer-to-peer civic celebrations that register, educate, inspire and mobilize students. ABOV’s signature program #Party4YourPower is an arts-based campaign that also addresses the systemic barriers to voting many students face. #Party4YourPower is a five step program that takes students from registering to the ballot box - by VOTING TOGETHER.
Our current work is also focused on implementing the historic legislation ABOV and our Student Advisory board passed in 2019, AB963: The Student Civic and Voter Empowerment Act, the first student voting rights law of its kind.
