Jersey City Ballet Theater Company(JCBT);a diverse group of professional dancers & apprentices.Our short programs introduce audiences to classical ballet, sometimes adding a contemporary twist to create interest for reluctant ballet goers. Programs included:JCBT dances to excerpts from classical ballets.Ballet to live chamber and jazz music.A classical contemporary program of Glazunov's the Seasons & Frank Sinatra suites. Our holiday show,Dances to the music of Vince Guaraldi's a Charlie Brown Christmas is a community favorite as is Peter & the Wolf the ballet.We also have tied ballet to historical events in our county & danced to the history of baseball & a tribute to the statue of liberty with live narration. Our goal is to create an audience for high quality professional ballet programming that is also affordable and easy to access. The school of Jersey City Ballet is the only Jersey City Studio dedicated to teaching the art of classical ballet and is providing professional ballet instruction to children & adults. Financial aid & privately funded scholarships create a wide reach. Students work toward sharing the stage with company dancers offering glimpse into professional dance life. We offer a serious adult ballet program for young adults through seniors.We would like to become the civic ballet company of Jersey City & Hudson County & to grow our season which would allow us to employ dancers all year long and present professional high quality performances.
