Mission Statement

Roberta Carson founded the nonprofit Zaggo to help patients and family caregivers manage illnesses and injuries, after her experience as caregiver for her teenage son Zachary during his battle with terminal brain cancer. Zaggo’s mission is to provide patients and families with the educational information, tools, and resources they need to become empowered, engaged, and effective member of their medical team.

Description

Roberta created a product called the ZaggoCare System, which features a 120-page guidebook filled with in-depth, easy-to-use guidance. The System comes in a tote bag with a full set of organizational tools, helping patients and caregivers keep medical information organized and handy.

The ZaggoCare System helps patients and family caregivers throughout their medical journey, including help with:

  • Knowing what questions to ask at each step of the process.
  • Receiving a proper diagnosis, including understanding the importance of a 2 nd opinion.
  • Understanding treatment options and making informed decisions.
  • Adhering to medication and treatment regimens.
  • Coordinating care among all members of their medical team.

The ZaggoCare is sold through our website and through partnerships with corporate benefits programs. 100% of the profits are donated to a pediatric brain tumor research fund in memory of Roberta's son Zachary.

Additionally, the unique Zaggo blog provides practical information to help patients and family caregivers better navigate the medical world. Through Zaggo's blog posts, Roberta provides scientific findings in easy-to-understand language, along with tips readers can use while managing a serious illness or injury.

Roberta and Zaggo have won numerous awards, including awards from Caregiving.com and WEGO Health.
