Vita Centre is dedicated to providing excellent support, education and counselling to vulnerable families in our community. When parents wish to attend programs, the Child Minding Volunteer will be responsible for caring and attending to the children while the parents are in the program. The Child Minder will observe the children's interaction to ensure safety and hygiene needs are met, guide and assist the children in playing and interacting with each other, inform parents when their child needs a diaper change, washroom break or indicates they're hungry. After programs the volunteer will be responsible for clean up of the child minding room and reporting to the supervisor any concerns or incidents. We welcome individuals to commence volunteering starting mid-September, 2023 . We are currently seeking individuals who are interested in committing to a 10-week period, 3 times a year, to provide child minding services. Parents will be on-site for the entire duration that the children are with the child minding volunteer.

Mission Statement
Vita Centre is dedicated to providing excellent support, education and counselling to vulnerable families, including pregnant and parenting youth, with the goal of empowering them to move forward and thrive.
Description
Vita Centre began as Vita Manor in 1989 with the goal of becoming a maternity resource in the Dufferin-Peel region. Through the years, the needs of our community have changed and so we have too. In 2008, we adopted the new name of Vita Centre and continued with a new mission - to provide more education and programming to a wider population. Presently, Vita Centre provides assistance to more than 600 pregnant and parenting youth between the ages of 15 and 30 in Peel Region. Through its various counselling and youth centered programs, clients are able to make positive decisions for themselves and their child, are connected to community resources, helped to complete their education, attend parenting classes and are even provided with tangible supplies to help them with their parenting journey.
