The Washington Heights-Inwood Preservation and Restoration Corporation (WHIPRC) is a nonprofit, social service agency whose highly committed staff is dedicated to identifying and responding to the needs of the community through a broad array of programs and services that empower local residents and revitalize the neighborhood.
Our food pantry serves hundreds of individuals and families in need of support.
We receive deliveries of food, and are looking for strong volunteers who can load the boxes onto hand trucks and bring them inside to our pantry.
The days and times of the deliveries vary. We know in advance what day the delivery is coming but we often receive very little notice about the time the delivery will be arriving, so volunteers need to live closeby and be able to come over at short notice.
