GEAR Recovery is seeking volunteers, youth and adults who want to assist in Getting the GEARS Turnin' for our support groups, The WAYE after school program, GEAR'ed Up for Wellness Summer Program, monthly clean-ups, and events. Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage with the community, various community leaders and organizations, become REVIVE! NARCAN (DBHDS) Opioid overdose prevention/awareness trained, trauma-informed, CPR & First aid certified, Food handler certified, and participate in mindfulness meditation and trauma sensitive yoga.

At GEAR Recovery, we believe in Giving Everyone an Advantage towards Resilient Recovery. We focus on providing Guidance, Education, Advocacy, and Resources to children and families experiencing mental illness and substance use disorders in their homes and communities. We are currently seeking diverse board members to join our team. We are searching for those interested in serving volunteer roles as a Secretary, Treasurer, Committee leaders, and supporting board members. Experience is not required, however, having served on a previous board or knowledge of board of director roles is desired. Responsibilities of a board member include: Attendance at the monthly board meetings Contributions to the organization via services or membership Social Media and email correspondence Creating intellectual property i.e. social media posts, programs, newsletters Works closely with our Youth Leaders Attendance at relevant committee meetings Participation at various GEAR Events and community functions Oversight of budget finances, operations and organization programs Participation in fundraising and outreach and more! 1 Year Term obligations The board works closely with the community, stakeholders, and families to ensure that GEAR achieves its goals and objectives. Description
We offer support and resources to communities facing adversity through mental health and substance use concerns. Our goals are to advocate and be a voice for those experiencing these misfortunes to allow them to live better, productive lives, increasing quality of life and decreasing crimes and issues related to untreated mental health disorders. We will be offering a physical & mental wellness end of summer program "GEAR’ED up for Wellness" summer 2023. Our future goals are to provide therapeutic services to those in need and mental health training services to professionals and families.
