Of Substance is an innovative nonprofit using short films as primary tools to revolutionize prevention, education, treatment, and support for mental health, addiction, and trauma. Our intentionally designed, provocative, and entertaining mini-movies, accompanied by original curriculums, materials, experiences, and discussions enhance engagement, deepen absorption, and expedite outcomes for those of us touched by these critical struggles.

Our mini movies - 5-10 minute comedies to thrillers - are approachable and captivating tools that reduce shame, improve mindset, and abolish stigma for all of us.

Movies are the most powerful medium on the planet!
They create an inescapable emotional experience, which is how we learn best and create the intrinsic motivation to grow. Movies immerse us in stories that help us better connect with and see ourselves and others with less judgment and more empathy, encouraging and inspiring us to be courageous, listen to others with compassion, and see the hero inside each of us.

We’ve found a way to invitingly and effectively meet people where they’re at, making exploring new perspectives less intimidating or shocking to the ego.
