Mission Statement
The mission of the Chico Housing Action Team (CHAT) is to ensure that every person in our community has access to housing they can afford.
Description
Active in the Chico community since 2013, Chico Housing Action Team, commonly referred to as CHAT, strives to find affordable options for community members who are without housing. This takes several forms: shared living arrangements in leased and CHAT owned homes, family homes, and Everhart Village (a tiny home setting in collaboration with Butte County Mental Health, under construction). CHAT currently has 75 units, housing over 275 community members. CHAT also runs a housing assistance program for survivors of the Camp Fire that has provided services for many families and individuals. CHAT runs a food distribution program and a furniture/household goods warehouse for residents.
