Sing? Play an instrument? Participate in a choir or band? Gentiva Hospice is looking for volunteers to share their gifts of music with our hospice patients. Many of our patients reside alone in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Giving the gift of music to these precious patients is a priceless gift. So grab your instrument, or grab your friends, and come provide some much-needed musical distraction. (Note: Most of these facilities have pianos.) Volunteering takes no advanced medical training or great commitment. You choose where you want to serve and how often. We serve six counties out of our Jackson location: Chester, Crockett, Gibson, Haywood, Henderson, and Madison. If you are searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others, you belong here. The end-of-life deserves as much care, beauty, and respect as the beginning. Gentiva Hospice is looking for US Military Veteran (or actively serving military) volunteers (ages 18 and up) to help provide support to veterans with life limiting conditions and their caregivers. Veteran-to-Veteran support volunteers provide a bond to other veterans like no one else can. Here are a few examples of how our Veteran-to-Veteran support volunteers serve: * Provide companionship and emotional support to fellow veterans and their caregivers * Provide respite (sitting with the veteran / patient) while the caregiver runs errands * Run errands for the veteran and their caregiver * Participate in our veteran recognition and pinning ceremonies You choose how you want to serve and how often. No medical experience is needed as volunteers do not perform nursing duties or dispense medication. America's veterans have done everything asked of them in their mission. It is our honor to serve those who have served us. We hope your will join us.
