Mission Statement
To provide compassionate care and extraordinary service to the patients and the families we serve.
Description
Hospice affirms the concept of palliative care as an intensive program that enhances comfort and promotes the quality of life for individuals and their families.
Hospice addresses the needs and opportunities during the last phase of life by including the individual and family, trained volunteers, caregivers and clinical professionals in the caregiving team. Hospice volunteers enhance the quality of life for the patient and family and help reduce the burden of caregiving.
Volunteers are generally available to provide different types of support to patients and their loved ones to include, but is not limited to, preparation of light meals,
staying with a patient to give family members a break, lending emotional support and companionship to patients and family members, and helping out with light housekeeping. Hospice volunteers can provide services in the role(s) of direct care, administrative, reiki, bereavement, vigil or pet therapy. These services improve quality of life and enhance care to our patients, families and caregivers.
