Riverbend Live's Mission is to provide rural communities within Douglas County (Winston-Dillard and surrounding areas) with a series of free high-quality, live cultural entertainment events that are otherwise unavailable in this community. Riverbend Live features regional, national, and international music, cowboy poetry, and local children's theater. Riverbend Live provides youth ages 8-17, a six-week theatre camp that culminates with two live on-stage drama performances before an audience of friends, neighbors, and community members.
Riverbend Live is a non-profit 501-C3 organization. Its mission is carried out by a small committee of volunteer organizers. The committee runs the organization's missions of putting on a live music series and children's theatre camp. They organize, secure, and accommodate performers, prepare the stage, secure park rental, carry appropriate insurance, hire and direct a professional lighting and sound production crew, raise funds through assertive grant-writing and community fundraising, advertise, distribute flyers, and hire photography and videography services, etc. For the Youth Theatre program, they hire a director and coordinate with area public schools to recruit youth, offer free snacks and lunch and oversee all aspects of the 6-week theatre camp.
