Mission Statement

PORCH Raleigh provides nourishment and resources for food insecure families in Wake County through monthly neighborhood food drives. We collect non-perishable food donations from the porches of Raleigh residents, distributing them to multiple hunger relief programs including BackPack Buddies, school food pantries, and community pantries. Additionally, we provide fresh food and grocery gift cards to local families in need for healthy and relevant choices for their nutritional needs.

Description

Through regular neighborhood food drives, PORCH Raleigh provides sustenance and resources to Wake County families that are struggling with hunger. We gather non-perishable food items from Raleigh residents’ porches and distribute them to a number of hunger relief initiatives, such as BackPack Buddies, school food pantries, and neighborhood pantries. Additionally, we build awareness around the issues that create food insecurity in our community, and raise money to provide grocery gift cards and fresh produce to give healthy and relevant options to people at risk of hunger.
