Natural Connections Academy, Inc. (NCA) is a private, non-profit outdoor school. We provide a nature-based educational experience for students in 3rd through 5th grades in Kootenai, Benewah, and Spokane Counties. In order to learn about their world, students are immersed in the natural environment through their own inquiries and wonder. Students solve real-world problems through hands-on learning opportunities. The goal is to reconnect students with nature so that they can be good stewards of their local environment.

Founded in 2021 by Tammi Masters, Natural Connections Academy Inc. provides students with learning opportunities that focus on nature and the outdoors. Currently, Natural Connections Academy Inc. operates in Worley, Idaho. We want to allow our students to learn about their local environment while interacting with nature. With the Covid 19 pandemic and the nature deficit that our children are experiencing, our children face unique educational and social challenges on a daily basis. We are committed to meet their needs.

Program objectives for our students include being outside and interacting with nature for at least 75% of their instructional time, participating in multiple community service projects, and exploring environmentally based career paths in the community. This project will run from August through June 2022, after which we will re-evaluate. The next step will be to establish a multi-level school that serves students from kindergarten through middle school.
