Mission Statement

The Community Garden at St Stephen's in-the-Field serves dozens of mostly Mandarin-speaking low-income elders who use the garden's 55 beds to grow food for their tables. The broader campus includes a growing California native plant garden recently highlighted on the Santa Clara Valley Native Plant Tour (https://www.gngt.org/GNGT/GardenSunday.php?year=2022&gid=ststephen). We work to create an intergenerational space where people can thrive together no matter their backgrounds.

Description

St Stephen's in-the-Field Community Garden provides a space for community members to connect with nature and each other; increase food resiliency and access to culturally-relevant foods; and trains volunteers in everything from pruning to carpentry to nature photography and composting.
