Mission Statement

Our mission is to offer adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities opportunities to achieve greater self-esteem, dignity, and participation in all aspects of community life through affordable, independent housing options, individualized skill instruction, and necessary support services.

Description

Our nonprofit is growing, and we are looking for volunteers to join our mission! We are advocates for local community members who live with a developmental and/or physical disability but want the most out of life. Our clients are active members in society--they work hard at their jobs and enjoy their downtime with others. We provide free services in job training and life skills, as well as assistance in housing, mentoring, and counseling. We put together fun social outings for our clients and volunteers and host an annual picnic in the summer, fundraiser in the fall, and holiday party in the winter. We have a 6-flat in downtown Palatine that houses some of our clients and an office in Rolling Meadows. We are currently working on developing a financial independence center to educate our clients in money management and in being smart about potential scams. We love our clients and our volunteers!
