At Harmony Hospice Care, we're committed to fostering harmony of mind, body, and soul for our patients and their families. Join our team of dedicated volunteers and help us provide quality and compassionate care to those in need. As a Friendly Visitor, you'll offer non-medical support and companionship to hospice patients and their families wherever they call home. You'll have the flexibility to set your own hours, availability, area of service, and activities. Volunteer Activities Include: Providing companionship and friendly support through conversation, reminiscing, or playing games Collecting life stories and special memories for journals, memory boards, and art projects Sending encouraging letters and cards Assisting with light household chores or running errands Making blankets, quilts, pillows, and crafts for patients Supporting bereaved families through mailings, phone calls, and in-home grief support visits Representing Harmony Hospice Care at Community Outreach and Special Events Qualifications: Availability and skills relevant to your chosen volunteer activity Ability to work independently and communicate effectively Empathy and compassion Completion of background check, TB test, physical, and provided training You skills, talents, and hobbies can make a difference! Hospice Volunteer - Mahoning County and surrounding areas! Your talents, skills, and experiences can make a meaningful impact for Hospice patients and their families. Our team at Harmony Hospice Care is dedicated to promoting a state of harmony of mind, body and soul for our patients and their families by collaborating with families to provide quality and compassionate hospice care. Volunteer activities available... Sitting with patients to provide companionship, play games, and offer a friendly, comforting presence. Sending encouraging letters and cards. Assisting in light household chores. Calling patients and their families to check on needs. Assisting with administrative duties at our Beachwood and Youngstown offices. Making blankets, quilts, pillows, and crafts for our patients. Providing support to our bereaved families by assisting with mailings, phone calls and in-home grief support visits. Qualifications: Availability of time and skills which pertain to your selected volunteer activity Maintain patient confidentiality Ability to work independently and take direction well.
