Description

The Indiana Eventing Association (originally known as the Indiana Combined Training association) was created as a result of the Hoosier Horse Park being created to host the equestrian sports in the 1987 Pan Am Games. The eventing community came together to help build a facility at the Johnson County Park. Like minded people in the area saw the opportunity to develop a facility for growing equestrian sports opportunities by building enough levels of XC courses to have a horse trials therefore providing a great place to host shows by the newly conceived IEA; the first show was held in 1988. Since that time the club has offered a full slate of courses, from starter to preliminary. The club has been dedicated to welcoming new people to the sport, and building relationships within our community since it’s inception.

Eventing is a three phase(dressage, cross country & stadium jumping) sport. IEA hosts two nationally recognized horse trials and a schooling horse trial at the Hoosier Horse park. IEA also distributes charitable grants to horse rescue orgnaizations, therapeutic riding associations and various equine related recipients annually. IEA provides educational opportunities to members and non members via clinics and webinars. Volunteer opportunities abound within IEA and we welcome new faces to our events.
