Christian Support Group Assistant Facilitator (3-5 hours/week): Female Fully Remote Opportunity! Do you want to help women in an abusive situation - and by extension, their children? What can you do to help the woman you see berated, belittled or beaten? Hagar’s Sisters has several volunteer opportunities for Christian women with experience coming alongside women in challenging circumstances to assist in our virtual support groups of women experiencing domestic abuse. This includes taking attendance, starting a Zoom call and being available to women who may be moved by the discussion. Volunteers do not have to be survivors themselves and are needed 2 evenings a week to cultivate the emotional and spiritual healing of women impacted by intimate partner abuse, empowering them through education, and compassionate community. These support groups are typically 1.5 hours in length and take place over Zoom. Due to the security and wellbeing of our clients ('Sisters’), interviews, background checks, and certification training are necessary. The certification training is provided free. Women of color are encouraged to volunteer with us! To request an interview and potential training enrollment, please email Rene at volunteers@hagarssisters.org.
