It is the mission of Rosemount Museum to collect, preserve, and interpret to a broad public audience the historical experience of the John A. Thatcher family as it functioned in and contributed to the community. The primary focus will be on the original Thatcher family that lived in Rosemount from 1893 to 1968 based on the associated material culture, facilities, documented history and history of the period.
Rosemount offers guided tours and historical / educational programs to the public. The organization also hosts several events and activities throughout the year. The 85% intact original collection makes Rosemount a "must see" when traveling through southeastern Colorado. John Thatcher and his brother Mahlon were instrumental in the building and growing of Pueblo and their contributions were far-reaching. Our goal is to share their story and to preserve the mansion and property for the enjoyment and education of future generations.
