Mission Statement
Our Mission: Provide quality dance training for students at all levels of dance, from beginner to advanced. Strive to foster creativity, self-confidence, grace, coordination, and positivity. Encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. Provide dance for children with medical or physical challenges. Encourage excellence, enhance our communities, and cultural diversity in dance to increase opportunities for all kids to experience dance and the arts. To enjoy the excitement of growing as dancers and the pursuit of meeting goals as a team!
Description
DIML was founded in 2012 by Shantel Puryear-Jenkins. Since 2012 our DIML dance program has partnered with a variety of different supporters in the community and hope to spread the word of what DIML represents. We’re one of Tampa Bay’s non-profit dance program that provides free professional dance techniques and entertainment to children’s ages 3-18. We offer training in several genres of dance such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, just to name a few. The DIML dance program focuses on students that attend schools which hold low academic performance indexes and/or are found in low-income areas. Our main goal Is to provide tutoring with homework and mentoring through dance to students who might otherwise not have the opportunity to participate if there were a charge involved. We are proud to say since then "Our DIML Dance Program" became a dynamic blend of beauty and talent.
